This is the story of my daughter, Zadie, who was born on May 31, 2011 and diagnosed with Pierre Robin Sequence. I hope the blog helps others going through what we've been through (and are still going through).
Zadie's story
Zadie was born on May 31, 2011 at 11 am. She was diagnosed with Pierre Robin Sequence that night, after she had been admitted into the NICU. She had a cleft palate, small chin (micrognathia), and a tongue that fell back too far (glossoptosis). She had trouble eating and breathing because of these anomalies. She received a feeding tube at 4 1/2 weeks of age, and then a trach at 5 weeks. The days, weeks, and months since she was born have been filled with a lot of fun and love, but also anxiety and worry. She's a strong little girl and will put all of this past her one day!
